iPhone app iSplinter rejected

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

apple rejected my iPhone application “iSplinter”. it’s a little prank application that simulates a broken iPhone screen. apple says it could “potentially resulting in user confusion”. that’s the idea of a prank, apple! btw: a farting iPhone isn’t resulting in user confusion?

i am working on several other iPhone projects. so let’s hope the others will not be rejected.

update: apple rejected the application three times without really looking at the changes. meanwhile iSplinter only shatters photos, not the screen shot of the iPhone UI anymore. they are still complain user confusion because of UI misbehaviour. but there is no answer to my replied mails.
the sad thing is that in the meantime apple accepted a similar app on 1 may: iShatter
in real life (my apps are only for fun) apple’s policy puts small companies on jeopardy while the whole app store business relies on these developers.

update: SurveillanceShaker – an CCTV app with more than 1000 cameras – is now in the App Store
